Palestine - The Forgotten War

Israel’s war on Palestine rages into its 7th week, extrajudicial assassinations occurring virtually daily, thousands of Palestinians wounded from live fire and other military assaults, over 1,000 civilians imprisoned for political reasons, including children and women.

Sunday saw no letup. Unrestrained Israeli brutality continued. With world attention on Paris, Netanyahu’s terror war rages almost unnoticed - two Qalandiya refugee camp Palestinians the latest victims, gunned down in cold blood during a raid to demolish an alleged attacker’s home.

Hundreds of Israeli soldiers stormed the camp violently from all sides, initiating clashes against defenseless civilians. Dozens were injured, some seriously. Numerous arrests followed.

Residents were forced from their homes at gunpoint. Soldiers blocked an ambulance taking critically wounded Yusel Abu Latifa for hospital treatment.

Other ambulances trying to reach wounded victims were attacked with tear gas. Muhammad Abu Shahin’s home was demolished lawlessly.

Maan News said it came after Netanyahu “pushed to legally (sic) expedite punitive demolitions of homes belonging to Palestinians suspected of carrying out attacks on Israelis.”

Guilt by accusation is automatic. No right of appeal exists. Overnight Friday, four other Palestinian homes were demolished.

Separately on Sunday, an Israeli military vehicle recklessly ran over a Palestinian two-year-old. He sustained unspecified head injuries requiring hospitalization.

An IDF spokesman lied, calling the incident “a minor car accident.” Nothing about Israel’s war on Palestine is “minor.”

Palestinians have been deliberately run over before by Israeli military vehicles unaccountably. A well-documented notorious incident occurred on June 14. Abdullah Iyad Ghuneimat was returning home from work threatening no one.

Israeli forces shot him, ran him over, and left him unattended under a military vehicle for nearly three hours before he died a painful death, according to witnesses - one of many victims of Israeli viciousness.

Family members rushing to the accident site to help were attacked by Israeli soldiers with stun grenades and tear gas. Ghuneimat’s mother said she heard a young man was hurt before she learned it was her son, dying unattended, prevented from getting help to try saving him.

An IDF statement calling what happened an accident was a willful lie. Palestinians are fair game for unrestricted Israeli state terror viciousness.

Video footage circulated online showed a military vehicle deliberately running over Ghuneimat, then blocking aid from reaching him.

On Monday, the Palestinian Information Center (PIC) reported Israel gunboats attacked nonthreatening Palestinian fishermen with “machinegun fire” off Gaza’s northern shore, wounding two civilians requiring hospitalization.

PIC called the attack “another episode in the series of Israeli daily violations of the Cairo-brokered truce accord signed in the wake of last summer’s offensive on the besieged coastal enclave, which killed over 2,300 Palestinians, mostly civilians.”

Since October 1, Israel extrajudicially executed 88 Palestinians, mostly youths and children. Over 8,000 others were injured from live fire, tear gas, and other forms of Israeli brutality.

With world attention focused on Paris in the aftermath of Friday’s incident, terror war on Palestine rages almost unnoticed, an entire population besieged, victimized by Israeli viciousness.
