| For believers in AGW (Anthropogenic Global Warming, ie.,
manmade global warming due to the use of combustable fuels such as oil and
coal) theory: It proves humans are ultra powerful and can literally change the Earth's climate It proves they are Doomed because Humanity is Evil, but the individual believer in AGW is superior because he/she believes in the ridiculous and discredited theory It is scientifically proven without any need for tiresome before-and-after trials and comparisons which are conveniently not possible and are the standards of the scientific method It is popular among the elite, the powerful, the rich and celebrities so it can only be true It makes money for Nice People like Al Gore or Richard Branson so it is a good theory It provides a useful additional shield from caring about other persons, because they are Doomed and anyway are Emitting Carbon For the developed, rich, postindustrial nations it provides another rationale for stopping the music and battening down the hatches at a time when the Chinese, Indians, Brazilians etc are getting a lot too rich, too fast As a believer in AGW, I have a privileged and superior moral position relative to the rest of Humanity who are dirt |
