[Israeli journalist Barry Chamish has provided CNI News with details of a new case of possible alien abduction, investigated on the scene by noted American abduction researcher Derrel Sims. Sims' activities in Israel were financed by German researcher and publisher Michael Hesemann, whose Magazine 2000 will carry a complete report on the new Israeli cases. Meanwhile Sims appeared recently on the syndicated U.S. radio program The End of the Line and provided additional details on the new case, as well as remarkable new findings in a case involving the apparent abduction of an elderly Israeli man last year. The Israeli town of Netanya was the scene of an apparent alien encounter on December 31, 1996. Shoshana Bar-On and Ilan Cohen were driving along the seacoast when they spotted an orange-red disk-shaped object flying just beyond the cliff overlooking the sea. After stopping the car for a better look, Shoshana says, she saw the object break into three separate objects, then into many glowing fragments that fell to the beach below.
Looking over the edge of the cliff, she then saw a small "clam-shaped" object rising up from a ledge below the clifftop. She says the object opened at the top, and inside she saw four small beings matching the description of "gray" aliens. One of them beckoned toward her. She says she saw light coming from its eyes, and then she felt paralyzed.
Meanwhile, Ilan Cohen was already immobilized near the car and saw only light, not the aliens. But he soon managed to drag Shoshana away from the cliff edge and back to the car, after which they returned to his apartment.
American researcher and hypnotherapist Derrel Sims, accompanied by Israeli journalist Barry Chamish, visited Cohen and Bar-On, along with Cohen's twelve-year-old daughter Tali, in mid-January. Chamish acted both as investigator and interpreter. The investigation was financed by German researcher and publisher Michael Hesemann.
While in Israel, Sims also interviewed an elderly man named Yuri Isakov, whose story of apparent alien abduction made international headlines in September, 1996 [see CNI News vol. 2 no. 14 of October 1, 1996.] Isakov revealed startling new details of his experience.
According to Sims, it is unlikely that Cohen or Bar-On were abducted on December 31. There was no apparent missing time and no indication that either person went aboard the small craft. But when Sims and Chamish visited the Cohen apartment, they learned that Cohen's daughter Tali had apparently been abducted previously, and was intimately familiar with the craft and beings that Shoshana Bar-On had seen.
Sims and Chamish were told that, following the December 31 encounter, strange red balls had been seen inside the apartment, accompanied by a foul odor which turned the breath sour. "We witnessed the foul smell," Chamish told CNI News. "It came from nowhere. Nothing within the apartment could have caused it. It seemed to jump around the apartment and it did leave a sour taste in the mouth."
Under hypnosis by Sims, a terrified Shoshana relived her encounter. She described the craft as perhaps nine feet across, with extremely small seats inside. Her initial reference to a "clam-shape" apparently meant a triangular and pyramidal craft that opened at the top in a clam-like way.
Tali told the investigators that she had been taken into the small craft on numerous occasions during the past year. She described many details of the craft's interior, including the tiny seats and various equipment. She made a number of drawings at Sims' urging. She also said she knew the names of two of the creatures.
Sims says Tali was extremely specific about what she had seen. Her drawing of one of the gray aliens had an uncharacteristic fat stomach. When Sims inquired about this, Tali said, "That's where the electronic equipment is." She then drew a rectangular device with five buttons. She said this was on the alien's clothing but was also attached inside its body. "You can hear the electronic things inside him," she told Sims.
Sims also learned that Cohen and Bar-On, some days after their December 31 encounter, returned to the site at the beach and found a number of peculiar items. Neither they nor the investigators are sure whether these items are connected to the UFO, but Sims has acquired the items for further laboratory analysis in the United States. He described his initial impressions during a February 12 interview with radio host Jeff Rense.
One item was a strange tar-like substance. Cohen showed Sims that, when a lighted match was held to the substance, it melted and caught fire almost instantly, but when extinguished it immediately solidified and felt cool to the touch. The other item was a metallic-like rock that, when placed on a cube of ice, melted the ice at an amazing rate of speed, yet never felt warm to the touch. Sims said on the radio program that he was very puzzled by these items and had scheduled a series of tests to be conducted in Houston, Texas on March 10.
Sims and Chamish then visited elderly abductee Yuri Isakov, now 63, whose story was widely reported last fall. On September 14, 1996, Isakov had left his house to collect his mail when he saw a large disk-shaped object overhead. Soon he found himself inside the craft, where he saw a number of apparently alien beings. According to Sims, Isakov has about 20 minutes of waking memory of the on-board events, though he was gone an estimated three hours.
Sims says he was impressed by two main features of the case. First, Isakov has suffered lasting physical effects of the encounter and is now in rapidly failing health. Second, Isakov is adamant about the highly unusual appearance of the aliens, which does not closely match any description in the literature of ufology.
The Associated Press noted at the time of Isakov's original encounter that when he turned up at a local police station, claiming he had been abducted by aliens, he was found to have a strange yellow powder on his clothing. Subsequent police analysis of this powder could not precisely identify its nature or its origin, though it contained aluminum and other non-exotic ingredients. Sims has now acquired a sample of this powder for further analysis in the United States.
Isakov told Sims that this powder was literally spit upon him by one of the odd creatures aboard the craft, apparently under orders from the alien leader.
Perhaps due to the powder, or the stress of the experience and other factors, Yuri Isakov now suffers severe tremors in his hands, as well as spells of uncontrollable crying. His general health is in decline. Immediately after his experience he had visible burns on his face and left arm, possibly caused by the powder. The burns on his arm are still visible and itch constantly, Sims says. Isakov told Sims he is deeply embarrassed about his growing infirmities and his bouts of crying.
Isakov was very specific about the beings he met. They were very short, had round heads and tear-drop shaped eyes, and instead of arms they had three snake-like tentacles attached to each shoulder. Each tentacle ended in a claw. Isakov said they had a violent demeanor.
Apparently in charge was a female creature, much taller than the others (about human height), who had the same bizarre tentacles but also had visible breasts. Isakov said she wore a kind of tiara on her head, with a crescent moon decoration.
Isakov said this female apparently ordered one of the smaller beings to spit the yellow powder on him.
Responding to the concerns of Sims and Chamish, Michael Hesemann offered to finance Yuri Isakov's way to the United States for treatment of his strange ailments. Sims said he made some initial arrangements for Isakov to be seen by neurologists and dermatologists, but it is not yet clear if Isakov will make the trip.
"There is a minor problem with a person who is representing him legally," Sims said during his radio interview. "This is very irritating to me, because this is free help, free flights and free medical assistance we are offering, but it appears to me that some people managing his affairs may be doing this at the cost of his health." Sims seemed to be suggesting that someone near Isakov is demanding additional money before the investigation and treatment can proceed.
These two Israeli cases both have elements of high strangeness but also offer tantilizing physical evidence in support of their basic claims. Derrel Sims indicated he will go forward with testing of the materials from Netanya as well as Yuri Isakov's powder, and will report his findings at a later date.
